Lando Norris delivered a commanding performance in the Miami Sprint race, securing his first win of the 2026 season and the team's return to winning ways. The British driver led from the front in the 19-lap dash to the finish line, crossing it 3.766 seconds ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. Charles Leclerc completed the podium for Ferrari, finishing third.
McLaren showed strong pace throughout the Sprint. Norris controlled the race expertly after a clean start, while Piastri maintained a close but ultimately non-threatening second. Leclerc kept the McLarens in sight, but struggled to successfully hunt them down.
George Russell took fourth for Mercedes, with Max Verstappen recovering to fifth after battling Lewis Hamilton. Kimi Antonelli finished sixth after dropping two places a penalty for repeated track limit violations, followed by Lewis Hamilton in seventh.

In Qualifying for today's race—which has been brought forward by three hours due to concerns about possible thunderstorms—Mercedes breakout Kimi Antonelli stormed to pole position for the main Grand Prix, posting a stunning 1:27.798 lap.
It marks his third consecutive pole of the season, underlining his growing status as a title contender. However, he was only narrowly ahead of Max Verstappen, who qualified second, just 0.166s behind, with Charles Leclerc third for Ferrari (+0.345s). It seems that, after some major upgrades, Red Bull and the four-time World Champion are back in contention.
Lando Norris will start fourth, with teammate Piastri seventh. George Russell lines up fifth alongside Lewis Hamilton in sixth, giving Mercedes a strong front-row presence alongside Antonelli. Franco Colapinto impressed for Alpine in eighth.
The Qualifying session told a very different story from the Sprint, and with four different teams in that top four, it's going to be all to play for when the lights go out in Florida later today.
